The real estate tax bills were mailed late due to a Phase I sewer betterment error. Phase II sewer betterment was not affected. The error was corrected before mailing the tax bills. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. THE TOWN OF KINGSTON REAL ESTATE AND PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX BILLS FOR THE 1ST QUARTER FISCAL YEAR 2009 WERE MAILED ON JULY 14, 2008 AND DUE INTO THE COLLECTOR’S OFFICE BY AUGUST 13, 2008. ANY PAYMENTS RECEIVED AFTER THAT DATE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A 14% INTEREST CHARGE. POSTMARKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. ANY PERSON WHO HAS ACQUIRED OWNERSHIP OF PROPERTY AFTER JANUARY 1, 2008 MAY NOTIFY THE BOARD OF ASSESSORS AT 781-585-0509 TO ENSURE THAT THE FISCAL YEAR 2009 BILL IS ADDRESSED TO THE CORRECT OWNER. FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX BILL BY A CURRENT OWNER DOES NOT EXEMPT INTEREST FROM BEING CHARGED ON A LATE PAYMENT. THE COLLECTOR’S OFFICE DOES NOT FORWARD TAX BILLS TO FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS. TO RECEIVE A STAMPED RECEIPT, PLEASE ENCLOSE A SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE WITH YOUR PAYMENT. Please Note: Real Estate and Personal Property Tax File will be available for paying on-line Monday, July 14, 2008. This will be FIRST QUARTER Fiscal Year 2009. The file will be taken down on Thursday, August 15, 2008 before 9:00 AM as the bills have a due date of August 13, 2008. All payments will then have to be mailed to Collector of Taxes, PO Box 900, Kingston, MA 02364.

Please Note: Motor Vehicle Excise Bills are due thirty days from issued date. Please use care in typing the bill number, excise type you are paying and the year (in BOLD print) on bill. If you are not given access to pay your bill, the file has been taken down and your payment will then have to be mailed to Collector of Taxes, PO Box 900, Kingston, MA 02364.
